AIKEN, SC – WILLIAM ELMORE BEZANSON, 81, widow of Lilly H. Knowles Bezanson, died Thursday, May 3, 2018 at Aiken Regional Medical Centers.

A native of Braintree, MA, Bill was a son of the late Alexander Caleb and Janet Geddes Bezanson. He grew up in the Braintree and Quincy, MA area. He worked as a quality assurance engineer, beginning with his father at Granite City Blacksmiths and later at General Dynamics and Stone & Webster Engineering. He moved to Aiken in 1990 from Massachusetts. He was a member of the Delta Masonic Lodge # 1847 in Braintree, MA.

Survivors include his daughter, Tyna Diggin (Matthew); his son, Mark William Bezanson, all of Aiken; grandchildren, Mark E. Bezanson, Andrew R. Bezanson (Heather), Shannon Diggin, Patrick Diggin (Amy J.), Matthew Diggin (Kristian), Rebecca Diggin (Dylan H.); great-grandchildren, Griffin Bezanson, Avery Bezanson, Keegan Molonich, Emma Lilly Bezanson; daughter-in-law, Elizabeth Bezanson, Braintree, MA; brother-in-law, Peter R. Knowles (Elaine), Kingston, MA.

In addition to his parents and beloved wife, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Doris Souza, Linda Steele, Jean DiBella and his brothers, Donnie Bezanson and George Bezanson.

The family will receive friends Tuesday evening, May 8th from 5 until 7 o’clock at Shellhouse – Rivers Funeral Home.

The funeral will be Wednesday morning, May 9th at 11 o’clock at the funeral home. Interment will be in Southlawn Cemetery.²

ABILENE -- Mildred V. Deaton, 92, Abilene, died Thursday, March 23, 2000, at Highland Intermediate Care Home, Abilene.

Mrs. Deaton was born Mildred V. Bezanson on Dec. 8, 1907, at Woburn, Mass., and was a resident of Abilene since 1968. She was a member of the Greyhound Association.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond, in 1998; and a son, Robert.

Survivors include a son, Raymond Jr. of San Diego; four daughters, Deanna Ryan and Marjorie Peterson, both of Abilene, Phyllis Ryan of Longbeach, N.C., and Roberta Poor of San Anselmo, Calif; 15 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.

A private service will be at 2 p.m. Monday in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Abilene. Cremation will precede the service.⁵

Beloved wife of the late George E. Frotton. Devoted mother of Virginia A. O'Doherty of Woburn and her husband John L., and the late George E. Frotton, Jr. Dear mother-in-law of Patricia Frotton of Tewksbury. Sister of the late Mildred Deaton, Gertrude Caldwell, and Marguerite Butler. Loving grandmother of Deborah Doyle and her husband James of Woburn, Neil O'Doherty and his wife April of Jeffersonville, VT, Scott Frotton and his wife Tammy of Dracut, Dennis, William, and Chris Frotton, all of Tewksbury, and Stephen Frotton and his wife Christine of Amesbury. Also survived by sixteen great-grandchildren and a devoted family friend, Karen Peters of Reading.
