     Lilly Ross was born circa 1937.1 She married William Elmore Bezanson.2 Lilly Ross died on 31 March 2017 at Aiken Regional Medical Centers, Aiken, South Carolina.1

Aiken, SC - LILLY H. BEZANSON, 80, beloved wife of William E. "Bill" Bezanson, died Friday, March 31, 2017 at Aiken Regional Medical Centers.

Born in Quincy, MA, Lilly was a daughter of the late Peter Ross and Lilly D. S. Holm Knowles. She grew up in Braintree, MA where she was a former Rainbow Girl. She retired from Union Gear in Quincy, MA. She was a former member of Quincy Point Congregational Church. Lilly and Bill moved to Aiken in 1990. Lilly enjoyed spending time with her family and grandkids which included watching her favorite sports teams (Patriots and the Red Sox). She also enjoyed traveling with her husband to various destinations which included Aruba every year for their anniversary.

Survivors, in addition to her husband Bill, include a daughter, Tyna Diggin (Matthew); a son, Mark William Bezanson, all of Aiken; six grandchildren, Mark Edward Bezanson, Andrew Ross Bezanson (Heather), Shannon Diggin, Patrick Diggin, Matthew Diggin, Rebecca Diggin; three great-grandchildren, Griffin and Avery Bezanson, Keegan Molinich; a brother, Peter R. Knowles (Elaine), Kingston, MA.

The family will receive friends Tuesday afternoon, April 4th from 4 until 8 o'clock at Shellhouse - Rivers Funeral Home. The funeral service will be Wednesday morning at 11 o'clock at the funeral home with The Rev. Dr. Henry L. Chennault officiating. Interment will follow in Southlawn Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Mark Bezanson, Matthew Diggin, Andrew Bezanson, Mark Edward Bezanson, Patrick Diggin and Mattie Diggin.1

George L. Steele
     George L. Steele was born on 30 June 1912 at Brooklyn, New York.1 He married Lena Bezanson.2 George L. Steele died in 2009 at Fremont, New Hampshire.1

     Obituary:
Fremont, NH - George L. Steele died at home on August 16, 2009 peacefully in his sleep at the age of 97.

He was born in Brooklyn, New York, June 30, 1912 and the son of the late George W. Steele and Florence (Becker) Steele. As an adult, George moved to Massachusetts where he lived for sixteen years, and finally moving to Fremont, NH in 1961 where he resided until his death.

He was predeceased by his son, Bruce A. Bezanson, who died in 2001.

Family members include his beloved wife of 62 years, Lena Evelyn (Bezanson) Steele; three granddaughters, Lisa Deyermond and her husband, Timothy; Heidi Jackman and her husband, Jeffrey; and Holly Bezanson; four great-grandchildren; Raeann Croston and her husband, Daniel; Samantha Jackman and fiancé, Roger Anderson II; Aaron and Asa Deyermond; two great-great grandchildren Natalya Croston and Anthony Jackman.

He served in the U.S Navy from 1942 to 1971, was a chief petty officer and served in the Pacific in World War II on the cruiser Pasadena and earning five Medals and entitled to wear a silver and bronze star. Ultimately, retiring as an Instructor at Quincy Naval Reserve Training Center in 1971

After being employed as an automobile part’s man for 27 years at Arlington Buick in Arlington, MA, George retired in 1974. After retirement he continued to work, as the custodial person for Indian Head Bank in Raymond, NH and did so for an additional ten years.

George was an avid reader, enjoyed fishing, going out to eat, taking long drives and particularly his annual traditions which included summer vacations to Canada. He was a lifelong member of the Maple Wheadon Veteran Of Foreign Wars 4479. In 2002 was presented with the Boston Post Cane, as Fremont‘s Oldest Resident.

Visitation will be held at the Brewitt Funeral Home, 2 Epping St., Raymond, NH on August 22, 2009 from 1-2PM. Memorial Services with military honors will follow at 2 PM, at the funeral home.1
