Leslie Edward Bezanson, Jr., of Springfield, passed away on October 1, 2025, at Baystate Medical Center following a car accident. He was 83 years old. Born on November 26, 1941, in Ludlow, Massachusetts, Leslie was the beloved son of the late Leslie Edward Bezanson, Sr. and Mary (Bellany) Bezanson. A graduate of Springfield Technical High School, Leslie remained a lifelong resident of Springfield, where he built a life grounded in curiosity, service, and community. He worked for the United States Postal Service in Springfield for over 32 years. Leslie had a lifelong passion for electronics, cars, computers, and woodworking. He was known for his love of tinkering and fixing things, always eager to learn and lend a helping hand. He proudly served in the Army National Guard for six years, dedicating himself to his country with honor and integrity. A man of deep faith, Leslie was a longtime and active member of Faith United Church in Springfield beginning in 1977. He was also a cherished member of the church choir, where he sang for many years and shared his love of music with his faith community. Leslie is survived by his loving sister, Kathleen Merchant, and her husband Neill of Granby, Massachusetts; his nieces, Heather Pike and Melissa Marler; his nephew, Timothy Merchant; and his great-nieces, Kate Cote and Lydia Pike. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him.
Family and friends are invited to gather in remembrance on Thursday, October 9, from 4:00 to 6:00 PM at the Byron Keenan Funeral Home and Cremation Tribute Center, 1858 Allen Street, Springfield. Burial will be private.1
