She was 33.3,4 George Alonzo Bezanson became a widower at age 48 upon the death of his wife Sophia Harnish on 13 January 1911 at Kingsburg, Nova Scotia.5,6 George Alonzo married Bertha Mader, daughter of Alfred Mader and Mary (?). She was the widow of George's brother Caleb.7,6 George Alonzo Bezanson died on 3 September 1943 at Victoria General Hospital, Halifax, Nova Scotia, at age 80.2,8 He was buried in Lakeview Cemetery, Kingsburg, Nova Scotia.9

     Obituary, September 1943:
The death of Mr George Bezanson occurred on Friday at the Victoria General Hospital, Halifax, where he had been receiving treatment for the past two weeks. Mr Bezanson was born at Millcove, 85 years ago, but has resided at Kingsburg the greater part of his lifetime. He was twice married and by the first union there were four children, Gertie, Mrs Coolen and William of the U.S.A; Gilford of First South; Harry, who was lost at sea. His second marriage was to Mrs Caleb Bezanson, his brother's widow and from this marriage there was one son, Hibbert, who was lost at sea from a fishing schooner several years ago.

Besides the above named he is survived by his widow and seven stepchildren also survive namely, Winnie, Iva, Naome, Sadie and Beatrice, all married and residing at Halifax; George of Riverport and Warren of Kingsburg. Another stepson, Albert, died at home several years ago. The funeral was held from the home of his son Gilford at First South, interment was at Kingsburg. Rev. W.K. Pace conducted the funeral.8

Cooley, Mrs. S. Gertrude, 93, of First South, formerly of Cambridge, MA, died Wednesday in Fisherman?s Memorial Hospital, Lunenburg.

Born in Mill Cove, she was a daughter of the late George and Sophia (Harnish) Bezanson.

She is survived by a sister-in-law, Mrs. Grace Bezanson, First South, two nieces and two nephews.

She was predeceased by two brothers, Guilford and Harry; several half-brothers and half-sisters. The body is in Dana L. Sweeney Funeral Home, Lunenburg, where funeral will be 2 p.m. Saturday, Rev. Lawrence Mawhinney officiating with burial in First South Cemetery.4

     Obituary from Lunenburg Progress Enterprise (Lunenburg, Nova Scotia), 4 January 1961:
Guilford George Bezanson - The community of First South was shocked and saddened by the sudden death of Guilford George Bazanson on December 22nd at the age of 67 years. Mr Bezanson was born at Mill Cove, the son of George and Sophie Bezanson. For the past eighteen years Mr Bezanson has resided at First South, and at the time of his death was employed at Smith and Rhuland Shipyard, Lunenburg.

He is survived by his wife Grace; two daughters, Charlotte, Mrs William Campbell, Kingston, Ontario; Frances, Mrs Angus Byers, Lunenburg; two sons, Douglas, Lunenburg; Borden of First South; also one sister Gertrude Cooley of Cambridge, Mass; and eight grandchildren. Funeral service was conducted by Rev Alexander Allen from Sweeney's Funeral Home on Saturday, December 24 at 3:30. Interment was at First South Cemetery.5

LUNENBURG - Grace Stella Mae Bezanson, 86, First South, died Saturday in Fishermen's Memorial Hospital, Lunenburg.

Born in Big Tancook Island, she was the daughter of the late Stephen and Eunice (Levy) Langille.

She was a member of St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church, Lunenburg. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

She is survived by two daughters, Frances (Mrs. Angus Byers), Lunenburg; Charlotte (Mrs. William Campbell), Kingston, Ont; two sons, R. Borden, First South; Douglas, Lunenburg; nine grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her husband, Guilford, four sisters, Lottie, Dora, Helen and Mae, two brothers, Basil and Stedman.

The body is in Dana L. Sweeny Funeral Home, Lunenburg. Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday in St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church, Lunenburg, Rev. Lawerence Mawhinney officiating. Burial will be in First South Cemetery.6

He was 22. She was 19.4 Robert Borden Guilford Bezanson died on 11 December 1995 at South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater, Nova Scotia, at age 74.5 He was buried in First South Cemetery, First South, Nova Scotia.5

Robert Borden Bezanson, 74, First South, died December 11, 1995, in South Shore Regional hospital, Bridgewater.

Born in Garden Lots, he was a son of the late Guilford and Grace (Langille) Bezanson. He served during the Second World War with the Royal Canadian Army i nthe tank corps and then went to work with National Sea Products, Lunenburg. He was a member of Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 23, Lunenburg, and Grace Lutheran Church, First South.

Surviving are his wife, the former Thelma Knickle; daughters, Linda Wentzell, Lunenburg; Janet (Mrs. Durling Deal), Dayspring; sisters, Frances (Mrs. Angus Byers), Lunenburg; Charlotte (Mrs. William Campbell), Kingston, Ontario; brother, Douglas, Lunenburg; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren.

Visitation 2-4, 7-9 p.m., today in Dana L. Sweeny Funeral Home, Lunenburg. Funeral 2 p.m. Wednesday in Grace Lutheran Church, First South, Rev. Douglas Moore officiating. Burial in First South Cemetery.5

(?).3 James Alfred Bezanson died in 1923.3 He was buried in Franconia, New Hampshire.3 Dorothy Evans was evidently not sure whether the Franconia gravestone was for this James. The marriage, death, and burial shown here are all based on that evidence.3

     Katurah Ann Bezanson was also known as Catherine Ann Bezanson. She was born on 14 May 1857.1 She married James Will Boutilier on 14 August 1876 at Head Harbor, Nova Scotia. She was 19. He was 21.1,2 Katurah Ann Bezanson and James Will Boutilier moved to Burleigh, later known as Oakfield, Maine, in 1881.2 Katurah Ann Bezanson died on 2 June 1928 at age 71.2
     From First Generation:
     She was a kindly quiet woman, beloved by all who knew her, and she was devoted to her family and home. She was known by everyone in Oakfield as "Aunt Kate". In 1928, she had been in failing health for about a year, but was feeling as well as usual until the hour of her death. Having walked a distance of two miles on June 2 to call on a neighbor, she later was out in the garden when taken ill. She walked unaided to the house where she died a half hour later.2

She was 19.2,1 James Will Boutilier and Katurah Ann Bezanson moved to Burleigh, later known as Oakfield, Maine, in 1881.1 James Will Boutilier died on 3 September 1935 at age 81.1 He was buried in Oakfield, Maine.1
