Eva E. Hubley, 91, Mahone Bay, died Tuesday, April 30, 1985, at Eastern Passage.

Born in New Ross, she was the daughter of the late William and Julia (Collins) Bezanson.

She is survived by three sons, Lindsay, Mahone Bay; Robert and Roy, both of New Cornwall; a sister, Mrs. Olive Kempton in Massachusetts; 16 grandchildren and several great grandchildren; and a few great great grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her husband, George; eight sisters, Lois, Hattie, Agnes, Jennie, Annie, Flossie,Ruby, and Lottie; and three brothers, Jim, Steve, and George. The funeral was held from the United Baptist Church, Mahone Bay, officiated by Lic. Dale Rose. Interment in Park Cemetery, Mahone Bay.6

     Olive Irene Bezanson was born on 3 February 1899 at New Ross, Nova Scotia.1,2,3 A quote from the "Glancing Over Nova Scotia" article in the Halifax Herald, 19 July 1923, "Miss Olive Bezanson, of Boston, is visiting her sister, Mrs. Amos Gates."4 She married Charles McLean Kempton in 1941 at Quincy, Massachusetts.5,6 Olive Irene raised step children, but had none of her own.1 Olive Irene Bezanson died on 24 May 1997 at Colonial Nursing Home, Weymouth, Massachusetts, at age 98.7,8

     Obituary from The Patriot Ledger (Quincy, Massachusetts), 28 May 1997:
QUINCY -- Olive Irene (Bezanson) Kempton, 98, a retired private duty nurse, died Saturday at the Colonial Nursing Home in Weymouth following a short ilness. A native of New Ross, Nova Scotia, Mrs. Kempton was a private duty nurse and home health care worker for many years. She moved to the Boston area as a young adult. She lived at the Fenno House elderly housing complex for more than 25 years and moved to the nursing home in Weymouth two weeks ago.

She is survived by her nephew, Norman Hawes of Weymouth; two cousins and many nieces and nephews in Nova Scotia.

A funeral service was held Wednesday morning at the Wollaston Chapel of Deware Funeral Home. Burial was in Pine Hill Cemetery.9

Born in New Ross, he was a son of the late Morton and Viola (Bezanson) Reeves. He owned and operated his own trucking firm. He was also a woodsman most of his life in the New Ross area. He was a member of St. Patrick's Roman Catholic Church, New Ross. He was a member of New Ross Volunteer Fire Department and was an avid fisherman.

He is survived by his wife, the former Marie Boylan; three sons, Peter and Alan, both of New Ross, and David, Halifax; two daughters, Kim (Mrs. William Schleich), and Joan, both of New Ross; two brothers, Roy and Marshall, New Ross; a sister, Pauline Patterson, Aylesford; two grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. The body rested in H.C. Lindsay Funeral Home, New Ross. Funeral was held Sept. 19 in St. Patrick's Church, Re. Ken Robertson officiating, with burial in New Ross Catholic Cemetery. Donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.3

Funeral mass will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, September 2, in St. Pat's Roman Catholic Church, New Ross, Father Chinedu Chukwu officiating, with burial in St. Pat's Roman Catholic Church Cemetery, Mill Road. Visitation will be held 7-9 p.m. Wednesday, September 9, in Middelton Funeral Home, where a memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, September 10, Rev. Charles Bull officiating. A reception for family and friends will follow the service. A private fmaily interment will be held in Aylesford Union Cemetery.3
