BEZANSON, Harold A. "Buzz"
November 30, 1935 - September 26, 2012
With his children by his side, Buzz passed away peacefully after several years of declining health.
Predeceased by his wife Patricia, Buzz is survived by his son Allen, daughter Sandi and son- in-law Tom and son Steve as well as his grandchildren Alex, Kevin, Hayley, Ally and Bethany.
Buzz was born in Windsor, Nova Scotia. He enlisted in the RCAF in 1952 at age 17 and was stationed in Ottawa. Some of his fondest memories were of his experiences as a drummer, travelling with the RCAF Rockcliffe Pipe Band. In 1957 he was transferred to Air Division HQ in Metz, France. Buzz had wonderful experiences while stationed in Europe, not the least of which was meeting the love of his life, Patricia Gray, also a member of the RCAF. They married in 1958. A transfer in 1961 brought the family, now including Allen and Sandi, to the West Coast of Canada - Richmond, BC, where youngest son Steve was born. After leaving the Air Force in 1966, Buzz had a career in sales until his retirement in 1995. Buzz and Pat lived in Richmond for 37 years before moving to Cloverdale. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #6 and was proud of his involvement with the Amos Ferguson Manor. After losing Pat in 2004 and suffering a stroke in 2006 Buzz returned to Richmond where he spent his final years.
The family wishes to thank Dr. M. Frey, the compassionate staff of Pinegrove Place Care Home and his special caregiver Helen. We are also grateful for the love and support given to Buzz by his companion Karen. In respect of Buzz's wishes there will be no memorial service.2
