     Eileen Hilda Bezanson was born on 16 April 1923 at South Alton, Nova Scotia.1,2 She married Clifford Ainslee Rafuse on 27 November 1943. She was 20.1 Eileen Hilda Bezanson died on 16 October 2005 at Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville, Nova Scotia, at age 82.2 She was buried in Elm Grove Cemetery, Steam Mill, Nova Scotia.2

RAFUSE, Eileen Hilda - 82, New Minas, passed away peacefully, Sunday, October 16, 2005, in Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville.

Born in South Alton, Kings Co., on April 16, 1923, she was a daughter of the late Norman and Lola (Corbett) Bezanson. She had been a loving wife and devoted mother who gave graciously of herself in support of her family. She was a resident of New Minas for over 58 years where she quietly supported many community organizations and functions such as, the Princess Tea, various showers, Boys Scouts and Girl Guides. She was a member of St. James Anglican Church, Kentville.

She is survived by daughters, Patricia Rafuse (Fern), Vancouver, B.C; Catherine (Mrs. Alvin Burgess), Coldbrook; Cheryl (Mrs. Randy Boyd), Greenwich; sons, Ivan, Greenwich; Carmen (Terry), South Alton; Dwight (Cheryl), Coldbrook; Bruce (Jackie), Wolfville; brothers, Lawson (Vivian), Centreville; Gerald (Jeannie), North Alton; grandchildren, Nicholas, Wesley, Nathan, Brittlyn, Andrew, Bradley, Jocelyn, Trevor; stepgrandchildren, Jennifer, Devon, Caroline, Luke, Vanessa, Brett; great-grandchild, Bailey; nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband, Clifford; twin children, Paul and Paulette; brother, Alden.

Visitation will be held from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday, October 19, in White Family Funeral Home, Kentville, where a funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, October 20, Rev. John McNally officiating. A private family burial will take place in Elm Grove Cemetery, Steam Mill, Kings Co.2

Lawson Eugene "Gene" Bezanson
     Lawson Eugene Bezanson was born on 14 December 1926.1 He married Ella Margaret Lockhart on 27 March 1948. He was 21.2 Lawson Eugene Bezanson lived in Torbrook Mines, Nova Scotia.3 He became a widower at age 70 upon the death of his wife Ella Margaret Lockhart on 22 August 1997 at Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville, Nova Scotia.4,5 Lawson Eugene Bezanson married Vivien Sanford circa 2002.6 Lawson Eugene Bezanson died on 10 September 2019 at QEII Halifax Infirmary, Halifax, Nova Scotia, at age 92.6,7 He was buried on 17 September 2019 in Torbrook Mines Cemetery, Torbrook Mines, Nova Scotia.6

     Obituary:
Lawson Eugene "Gene" Bezanson passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 10, 2019 in his 93rd year in Abbie J. Lane Memorial – QEII, Halifax. Born in South Alton on December 14, 1926, he was a son of the late Norman and Lola (Corbett) Bezanson.

Lawson owned and operated a farm in Torbrook Mines. In 1958, he began his career as a plumber, steam fitter with the construction engineering section of CFB Greenwood until his retirement in 1986. He then joined the Woodlot Owners Association of Nova Scotia working many years at the Silviculture and planting trees on his land in Torbrook Mines. In 1996 he was the regional winner of the Woodland Owner of the Year award. Lawson moved to Centreville in 2002 after his marriage to Vivian. His love of the outdoors carried on by planting his garden and cutting his own wood. He and Vivian led an active life enjoying dancing, the cottage at Halls Harbour, working on quilts together, attending horse and ox pulls and taking in fall exhibitions. Since November 2015, Lawson resided at Kingswood Assisted Living Residence in Hammonds Plains, Nova Scotia.

He is survived by his wife, Vivian (Sanford); sons, Darrell (Catherine); David (Diana); Ronald (Sharon); grandchildren, James, Tony, Taylor, Adriana, Crystal, Meghan, Evan; 16 great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his wife, Ella (Lockhart); sister, Eileen Rafuse; brothers, Gerald, Alden and daughter-in-law, Karen McGill.

Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11:00 a.m., followed by a reception, on Tuesday, September 17, 2019 in the White Family Funeral Home, Kentville, Reverend Doctor Steven B. Hopper officiating. Burial will take place in the Torbrook Mines United Church Cemetery, Torbrook Mines. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the White Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Kentville.6

BEZANSON, Ella Margaret - 66, Torbrook Mines, died August 22, 1997, in Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville.

Born in Coldbrook, she was a daughter of the late Grant Kempton and Margaret Ann (Schofield) Lockhart. She was active in her local community as secretary of the Torbrook Mines Community Hall Association, Torbrook Mines United Church and the Torbrook Meadowvale Hospital Auxiliary.

Surviving are her husband, Lawson Eugene; sons, Ronald, Bedford; Darrell, Lake Echo; David, Newport Corner; sisters, Mrs. Alma Russell, Kearney Lake; Goldie (Mrs. Darrell McDow), Mount Denson; brother, Chesley, Kentville; seven grandchildren.

She was predeceased by brothers, Sherman, Harley, Charles Lee in infancy. Funeral 2 p.m. today in Warren T. Roop Funeral Home, Middleton, Rev. Bill McLeod officiating. Burial in Torbrook Mines Cemetery.3

BEZANSON, Gerald Norman - 79, of Canaan Avenue, Kentville, passed away Sunday, July 11, 2010, in Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville.

Born in South Alton, he was a son of the late Norman and Lola Bezanson. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Jean; son, Richard (Margaret); daughters, Tami (Fred Goucher), Suzanne (Gordon) Huestis; and his beloved grandchildren, Kristi Jean, Jessica, Adam, Matthew, and his namesake, David Gerald. Gerald is also survived by his brother, Lawson (Vivian) Bezanson; and several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his sister, Eileen Rafuse; and brother, Alden. Gerald owned and operated school buses for 30 years. He was in the trucking business for 54 years and was the owner of G.N. Bezanson Trucking Limited. He was a member of Kings County Truckers Association. A visitation will take place this evening from 7 to 9 p.m. on in H.C. Lindsay Funeral Homes and Crematorium located at 5 Leverett Ave., Kentville, N.S. B4N 2K5 (902-678-2151). A Funeral service will take place in North Alton Baptist Church on Thursday July 15 at 2 p.m. Reverend Elizabeth Johnson officiating.2
