     Douglas Morrison Bezanson was born circa 1960 at Antogonish, Nova Scotia.1 He married Juanita Pleau Sabean.3 Douglas Morrison Bezanson was living at Digby, Nova Scotia, in 2005.2 He died on 16 July 2020 at Victoria General Hospital, Halifax, Nova Scotia.1

1960 - 2020

Douglas Morrison Bezanson, age 60, of Digby passed away on July 16th, 2020 at QEII, V.G. Site, Halifax. Born in Antigonish he was the son of Newton and Dorothy (White) Bezanson.

Douglas worked at Acadia Wipers in Digby and was known for being a loyal employee going above and beyond. He loved fishing, old cars, music, a good hand of crib and making people laugh. An avid hunter back in his day, he loved spending time in the great outdoors. But what he loved most was his family and friends. Douglas was always there when you needed him, he would drop everything to help someone.

He will be forever loved and missed by his spouse Juanita Pleau Sabean of Digby; his sisters, Susan Bezanson (Ian Holmes) of Wellington, Martha Bezanson of Antigonish and especially, Candice Sabean as well as all his children, grandchildren, great-grand children and many nephews and nieces.

He was predeceased by his brothers; Angus, Roderick and one in infancy.

A special thank you to the staff of the QEII,VG site for their care and compassion.

A family graveside service will be held at a later date in St. James Cemetery, New Chester.3

     Angus Bezanson was born on 6 September 1948.2 He married Carol (?).3 Angus Bezanson died on 27 August 1995 at Henderson General Hospital, Henderson, Ontario, at age 46.3,2 He was buried in St. James Cemetery, New Chester, Nova Scotia.2

BEZANSON, Angus Alexander - 46, Hamilton, Ont., died August 27, 1995, in Henderson General Hospital, Hamilton.

Born at Ecum Secum Bridge, Halifax Co., he was a son of Dorothy Bezanson and the late Newton Bezanson. He was a member of the United Association of Plumbers and Pipefitters, Local 244.

Surviving are his wife, Carol; sons, Gustifer, Andrew; daughter, Suzanne; sisters, Susan, Martha (Mrs. Douglas Roberts); brother, Douglas; a niece and nephew.

He was predeceased by a brother, Roderick. Funeral 1 p.m. today in Chapel of White Chapel Memorial Gardens, Hamilton. Cremation to follow.3

     Ethel Mae MacKenzie was born on 1 December 1917 at Halifax, Nova Scotia.1 She married Fred C. Hill.1 Ethel Mae MacKenzie married Cyril Brown.1 Ethel Mae MacKenzie died on 6 December 2010 at Colchester Regional Hospital, Truro, Nova Scotia, at age 93.1

     Obituary:
Ethel May (MacKenzie)(Hill) Brown … 93, Fergus Hall, Parkland Estates, Truro, passed away peacefully Monday, December 6, 2010, at Colchester Regional Hospital, Truro.

Born December 1, 1917, in Halifax, she was a daughter of the late O.F. MacKenzie and Caroline (Holley) MacKenzie.

She was the last surviving member of her Father's immediate family.

Along with her parents, she was predeceased by her two brothers; one sister; numerous aunts and uncles; first husband, Fred C. Hill; second husband, Cyril Brown “Brownie”.

She is survived by her immediate sons, Ronald (Sharron) Hill, Truro; John (Jean) Hill, Halifax; five grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her step-children, step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren from her second marriage.

Ethel had degrees in education and the arts from many prominent facilities in Nova Scotia. She taught music at the Halifax Conservatory in her younger years and French in several schools in Colchester County until she retired from teaching. She was a member of Truro's Attic Painters and also the Truro Art Society for many years until arthritis ended her abilities at age 91. She also attended painting and writing classes at ACTC in Tatamagouche every year until the age of 91. She was an inspiration to all who knew her and will sadly be missed by all.

Honouring Ethel’s wishes, all are invited to a celebration of her life, where you can come and share memories and stories from 1-3 p.m., Saturday, December 11, 2010, at Mattatall ~ Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young Street, Truro.1
