Raphael Bezanson and James Potter two lads went out on the Hamilton Bay hunting ducks. When returning home, Potter aimed his gun up in the air, pulled the trigger twice. The gun did not go off and thinking it was not loaded, he again pulled the trigger, pointing the gun at Bezanson. This time it discharged, the contents entering Bezanson's forehead. He died in the ambulance while being conveyed to the city hospital. Potter was arrested and taken to jail on a charge of manslaughter.
